As we launch our 2022 Annual Appeal, we are also kicking off our 5th Annual Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Challenge among SOAR staff! We are asking for your help in raising funds that enable us to carry out our mission. By sharing your passion for what you do at SOAR, you can motivate others to give.

Details for the 2022 SOAR Staff Peer-to-Peer Challenge

  • This year it will be a partner fundraising challenge! We will draw names of participating SOAR staff to form partner teams. You and your partner can rally your friends, families, & contacts to support SOAR!
  • The challenge will run for 2 weeks from November 29th - December 13th. Winners will be announced at the staff meeting on December 14th.
  • There will be 2 components of the challenge:
    • GivingTuesday Gingerbread House Contest: Each partner team will work together to make a gingerbread house for GivingTuesday (November 29th.) Gingerbread houses will be on display at SOAR for our open house. We will also share photos of the houses via MailChimp and/or Facebook. People will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite gingerbread houses by making a donation in-person or online. The house with the most votes (total donations) by midnight on Giving Tuesday will win the contest! Please see “SOAR Staff Gingerbread House Contest Rules” for additional details.
    • Overall Fundraising (November 29th – December 13th): The partner team that raises the most money during the 2-week challenge will win! (The money raised on GivingTuesday will be included in the overall fundraising totals as well.)

Once you know who your partner is:

  • Please come up with a festive team name!
  • Setup a team fundraising page at this link. Click the "Start Fundraising" link, and follow the prompts. We've provided tools, such as email and social media templates, that you can use and personalize in your fundraising efforts. It'll be easy to share and ask your contacts for support! Donations to your page will be automatically recorded through Network for Good. If you receive any cash or check donations, please give them to Ashley to be processed and recorded... so you get credit :)
  • Start planning your gingerbread house design and fundraising strategy with your partner!

Incentives/Prizes

  • GivingTuesday Gingerbread House Contest:
    • The partner team with the most votes (donations) on November 29th will win Kwik Trip gift cards ($25 for each team member), gift baskets, and bragging rights!
  • Overall Fundraising:
    • The partner team that raises the most money overall will win lunch and 4 hours of PTO.
    • For every $200 raised, your team name will be entered into a raffle drawing. Each person on the team that wins the raffle drawing will receive a $50 Kwik Trip gift card. The more you raise, the better your chances of winning are!
