We, Heidi Zick and Ashley Gustafson, have been paired up for a FUNdraising competition among SOAR staff this season! Part of the competition involves a gingerbread house contest and, since neither of us are bakers or artists, we are calling ourselves The Underdogs! Yes, it is part of a friendly fundraising competition among SOAR staff, but we are doing it because we see firsthand the impact that SOAR makes in the lives of the people with disabilities we serve. We want to help raise funds that will continue empowering our participants.
Your donation to our team fundraising page will help us compete against our coworkers in the fundraising challenge but, more importantly, it will help ensure that people with disabilities are connected and empowered. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
ABOUT SOAR FOX CITIES:
We’re a local non-profit organization that provides programs and services to individuals with developmental disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury survivors, and family members. We serve close to 1,200 participants and touch over 19,000 family and community members. We offer a variety of services that range from Youth, Adult and Family Programs, Advocacy, Camps, Community Education, and even the third largest Special Olympics organization in the state! For over 65 years, we have been providing people with disabilities and their families with a sense of belonging. SOAR strives for inclusivity and a community where all members are valued, celebrated, and have opportunities to SOAR!
SOAR STAFF PEER-TO-PEER CHALLENGE:
- GivingTuesday Gingerbread House Contest: Each partner team will work together to make a gingerbread house for GivingTuesday. All gingerbread houses will be on display as part of a GivingTuesday Open House at SOAR (211 E. Franklin Street, Appleton) on Tuesday, November 29th from 10am-6pm. They will also be shared on SOAR's Facebook page that day. People will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite gingerbread house by making a donation in-person or online. The gingerbread house with the most votes (donations) on Giving Tuesday will win the contest!
- Overall Fundraising (November 29th – December 13th): The partner team that raises the most money during the 2-week challenge will win!
